Now all the words produced by the vocal chords can be represented by AUM. When it is pronounced properly all vowel sounds are included, consonants are thus regarded as interruptions of the essential vowel sound. Furthermore it has an upward movement, uplifting the soul. It begins in the lungs and ends on the lips. Silence is from where it emanates and 2 that which it returns, the immortal. A is creation, U is preservation, and M is destruction. It is also representative of waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. Or of Heaven, Earth, and the Netherworld.
